We filled in a swimming pool to create a very individual plantswoman's garden.

With children and grandchildren grown, our client, a keen and experienced gardener, no longer wanted the swimming pool; it was time for a new garden.

Instead of lawn or borders, we designed the ‘pool terrace’ into three organically shaped garden beds which are reminiscent of the old kidney-shaped pool. The old sandstone paving was integrated with new sandstone slabs to create walkways around each bed for easy access. The ‘diving rock’, once on the edge of the pool, remains in position but now in a sea of plants.
